Australian Association for Mission Studies

The Australian Journal of Mission Studies (AJMS) is the journal of the Australian Association for Mission Studies (AAMS) and is published twice a year.

It exists to publish articles—both scholarly and of general interest—on Christian mission, both local and global, with a focus on the Australian and South Pacific perspectives.

It began with Volume 1, Number 1 in June 2007 and is issued twice in a subscription year (which runs from July to June), in December and June.

It is the successor to the South Pacific Journal of Mission Studies (SPJMS), of which there were 36 issues between 1989 and 2006. The founding president of the South Pacific Association for Mission Studies ( SPAMS) and longstanding editor of the SPJMS, Rev Dr Cyril Hally ssc, remains as Editor-in-Chief of AJMS.
