2005

Here's a few photos which bobbed up in various places:

Aussie Open website

The HEARD was also spotted:

  • In the FOX Sports photo gallery - with 2 photos
  • On the Australian Open Day 4 action highlights video on the Fox Sports page
  • Doing their "COME ON" as a promo to each Leyton Hewitt Game
  • On the closing real of the Australian Open 2005
  • Page 12 of the Herald Sun.  The following is a quote from Nathan Healey from the article

It was great! It was great. I mean, when I got out there and they started singing the national anthem, you know, it almost brings tears to your eyes. Not the way you sort of want to start a match, but it was a good feeling. It gave me goosebumps and gets you going.
It was amazing, actually. Great material. It was quite funny at the time. I had to put the towel over my head and sort of block some of it out, concentrate on what I had to do rather than enjoying the party.

At the conclusion of our 2005 Australian Open outing, we were asked to do a live radio interview for MIX101.1.  Here's a recording of the HEARD gracing the Melbourne airways.

HERALD SUN

You may not be able to read the article.  It states: 'While Fanatics had centre court, The Heard was in control on court three.' Towards the end it reads "No, we are not the Fanatics, but we have been mistaken for them in the past," said Lauren Cutler. "My brother Matt and a few mates started The Heard a few years ago, and it's just grown from there."

THE AGE

We also copped a sweet little interview in the Age in 2003.

AGE - ARTICLE

In 2004, we were asked to do some chants for AOTV ... which made it onto the net as the opening grab for all AOTV clips. Was a nice HEARD sandwich with a clip at the start, middle and end. Unfortunately it isn't archived so we can't see it anymore! In 2004, the HEARD made it into the same highlights real of the Australian Open at the very beginning.  This too, has recently been taken off the Ausopen site to make way for 2006.

In 2004, we also managed to get on the BBC website - an incredible effort! On the Day 4 photo gallery, there are 11 photos - almost entirely of the players from that day ... except for photo number 4! Really good photo too ... and Kylie got a bit of a mention too! Here's the photo and link:

2003

In 2003 we watched Jaymon Crabb ... and scored his racquet which he tossed into the crowd after the match. This picture featured in the Age.

2003 also produced the most famous Heard picture yet.  The following picture was in the Age's best photos of 2003, has been used in a national presentation by a Clinical Pyschologist and Family therapist as a demonstration of Australian culture, and has found it's way into 2 books.
